Description
Early Childhood Study Tour
What you will learn from this session:
Join us for this unique opportunity to see first-hand quality play-based learning in two early childhood settings. This one-day tour visits an Early Childhood Centre where you will observe children and educators in action in a typical morning from babies through to Preschool age. This will be followed by a visit to a community-based Preschool to observe a four-year-old group time and preschoolers engaged in a range of learning experiences. You will gain unique insights and discover practical strategies for implementing best practice in your own setting. Take advantage of the opportunity to engage with in-depth professional learning led by our experienced consultants.
By attending an Early Childhood Study Tour you will:
- Experience play-based learning for babies through to preschoolers in authentic contexts, enhancing both skill development and engagement.
- Discover ways to support relationships and nurturing a positive learning culture.
- Hear from experienced centre directors and teachers
- Learn the principles that support designing engaging, child-centred environments that foster autonomy, creativity, and learning through purposeful play.
- Develop skills to implement Investigation sessions that support literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth, with learning embedded within meaningful contexts and linked to children’s interests.
- See first hand examples of effective learning spaces that inspire and sustain children’s engagement, promoting active exploration and learning.
- Understand how the learning environment can serve as a 'third teacher,' facilitating hands-on, open-ended learning that deepens students’ understanding and self-regulation.
- Gain an introduction to our planning templates and explore how they support planning, observations, assessment, and reporting.
This is an invaluable opportunity for Early Childhood teachers and co-educators to be inspired and affirmed in delivering engaging and intentional learning environments for Babies through to Preschoolers. This session is especially suited for educators who want a practical, observational experience of high quality settings and relationships in action.
